Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th April 2020.
Chine-collé is a beautiful technique that allows you to add colour to your prints, by adhering delicate papers such as Japanese paper to your printing paper before running your image through the press .
In this 2 day workshop you will learn how to use Chine-collé and coloured ink to produce a 2 layer stone lithograph.
We will cover all of the basics of lithography including;
Drawing materials and methods
Stone etching and processing
Printing and registration
Chine-collé preperation and printing.
Setting up the press
The class is suitable for beginners and those who want to refresh their skills. It is also a great follow on for any printmaker who has tried lithography before and wants to practice new techniques.
All materials included.
Homemade cake, tea, coffee, & squash are on offer throughout the class.
Class size: 3
What to bring?
Any imagery that you would like to work from. Sketches or photographs of things or places that interest you are a good starting point.
I will have aprons to protect your clothing. I do however recommend that you wear old clothes, as we will be using oil based inks and if they come into contact with clothes can be difficult to remove.
